What is the Ampere?

Being able to measure the amount of current flowing in a circuit is crucial because it allows the circuit’s performance to be specified and for the circuit to operate as intended. It is important to have an ampere or amp unit to accomplish this.

What is the Kilowatts?

KW stands for “real power” or “working power.” The quantity of power transformed into a usable output is measured in kilowatts. Power may be defined as a measure of how quickly something generates or generates energy. In many respects, average KW levels are more manageable.

How to convert amps to kw

Here, we describe 3 varieties of amp to kilowatts calculation

  1. DC amps to kw
  2. AC single phase amps to kw
  3. AC three phase amps to kw

Volts to Watts Calculator >>

1. DC amps to kw

P = I * V / 1000

The current I in amps (A) times the voltage V in volts (V) divided by 1000 equals the power P in kilowatts.

2. AC single phase amps to kw

P = PF * I * V / 1000

The power factor times the phase current I in amps (A) times the RMS voltage V in volts (V) divided by 1000 equals the power P in kilowatts.

3. AC three phase amps to kw

For, line to line voltage

P = √3 * PF * I * V (L-L) / 1000

The square root of 3 times the power factor times the phase current I in amps times the line to line RMS voltage V(L-L) in V (volts) divided by 1000 equals power in kilowatts.

For, line to neutral voltage

P = 3 * PF * I * V (L-N) / 1000

The product of three times the power factor times the phase current I times neutral RMS voltage V(L-N) divided by 1000 V(L-N) in volts divided by 1000 equals the powe in kilowatts.
